Windir er black/viking metal band fra Sogndal som var aktive i perioden fra 1994-2004. Bandet besto av Valfar (vokal og ekstra instrumenter), Strom (gitar), Sture (rytmegitar), Hvàll (bass), Righ (synth), Steingrim (trommer). De valgte å kalle musikken sin for “sognametal” (metal fra sogn) da metal sjangeren hadde fått mye negativ oppmerksomhet i media.

VME samarbeidet med Windir på albumene Soknardal (1997), Arntor (1999), Likferd (2003) og 1184 (2001). ———————————————————————————————Windir is a black/viking metal band from Sogndal, Norway, active from 1994-2004.
