Minor Majority ble stiftet av Pål Angelskår og Andreas Berczelly i 1999.Deres første album, Walking Home from Nicole’s ble utgitt i 2001. Samme år ble gitaristen Jon Arild Stieng med i bandet, og de turnerte for første gang våren 2022.

Det neste albumet, If I Told You, You  Were Beautiful, ble nominert til Spellemannprisen 2002 i kategorien beste popgruppe. Keyboardisten Harald Sommerstad, trommeslageren Halvor Høgh Winsnes og bassisten Henrik Widerøe kom med i bandet i 2003.

For sitt fjerde album, Reasons to Hang Around , vant de Spellemannprisen i 2006 i klassen beste popgruppe.  Bortsett fra sporadiske konserter holdt bandet en lav profil i årene 2009-2018, da de kom tilbake med albumet Napkin Poetry.  Etterpå er det kommet to album til, The Universe Would Have to Adjust (2021) og Kiss Off  (2022) og bandet har vært svært aktive på konsertfronten med konserter i duo-, trio- og band format, i Norge og Tyskland.

Minor Majority was founded by Pål Angelskår and Andreas Berczelly in 1999. Their first album, Walking Home from Nicole’s, was released in 2001. The same year, guitarist Jon Arild Stieng joined the band, and they toured for the first time in the spring of 2022.

The next album, If I Told You, You Were Beautiful, was nominated for Spellemannprisen 2002 in the category of best pop group. Keyboardist Harald Sommerstad, drummer Halvor Høgh Winsnes and bassist Henrik Widerøe joined the band in 2003.

For their fourth album, Reasons to Hang Around, they won Spellemannprisen in 2006 in the category best pop group. Apart from occasional concerts, the band kept a low profile in the years 2009-2018, when they returned with the album Napkin Poetry. Following  that album, two more albums have been released, The Universe Would Have to Adjust (2021) and Kiss Off (2022) and the band has been very active on the live front with concerts in duo, trio and band format, in Norway and Germany.
